Electrical Outlet Types

Electrical Plug Types - Inspection ReferenceOne of the things I’ve found during Home Inspections and the questions that follow is “My plug doesn’t fit this type of outlet, what do I do?” Well, for goodness sake, don’t force it, that’s for sure. I’ve included an illustration of a few common types that I regularly come across in my travels in the Antelope Valley, Palmdale and Lancaster or for that matter, you can find them just about anywhere!

What’s important to know

Do not, under any circumstance try to force an electrical connection or twist/turn the connections, you may be energizing a 110 volt appliance with 220 volts or vice-versa and can be damaging or hurtful to you or your property.
